What is a Dental Plan?
A dental plan is a type of insurance to cover certain types of dental care. It pays set rates for specific dental procedures as determined by the plan that you choose. A dental plan is not a medical aid. However, it can serve as top up for medical aid dental benefits.
Although the benefits of a dental plan may not cover the full cost of dental care, it helps to protect you against exorbitant bills by at least partially funding your dental treatment. Cosmetic dentistry and non-essential dental benefits are not included. You, your partner and up to 4 children can be covered under one family policy.
